ARTIST STATEMENT
Ksenia Volkova is an artist born in Moscow, Russia. In her works she focuses on both illustration and ceramics, discovering new ways to combine the two.
Ksenia uses figurative language to capture feelings which are being hidden inside, to depict states of uncertainties and hesitation, to describe moments at the threshold of thought and action. By incorporating familiar objects and storytelling imagery, she crafts metaphors that explore intangible emotions.
Ksenia tells stories which could intersect with stories of others. She sees herself as a story-teller, and whether she choses clay or illustration, her main focus is the narrative.
